Travel directions need considerable more clarity. They need to reflect the need of non-Italians by giving reference to a few landmarks as street names are not always omnipresent! One expects to find a sign "Golden Tulip" whereas the hotel name "Moderno" is only really visible if one stands in front of the main door. Provision should be made to guide guests to the underground garage and then allow check-in because there are no parking facilities directly in front of the lobby, even for temporary stop so that one can announce one's arrival! Yes, one can "do in Rome as the Romans do" and park illegally slap in front of the lobby door, albeit temporarily, and then ignore the vociferous complaints of passing motorists! Hotel atmosphere pleasant.

We spent two nights at the hotel before traveling further south along the coast. The location of the hotel is great. It is very close to the train station and a fairly short walk to all of the other sites in Genoa. We had a very enjoyable dinner in the restaurant and the service in the hotel was very good overall. The room was small and a little dark, but nice and very typical of European hotels. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet -- everything you want when you spend most of the time exploring the city. I would definitely recommend the hotel and would use it again if we are in the area.

Being just opposite Genoa's main train station, this hotel is ideally located. It is also very close to the heart of Genoa's shopping district and the port is just a short walk away. The room was comfortable and the facilities were modern. For the money we paid (95 euro's per night) we can't knock it.
