Genova Capital of the Sea

It refers to the concept of travelling by sea, the concept of adventure and research: this journey represents the culture linked to the navigation but also the preminence of the Genoese people in technics, industry and research. One of the main attractives of “Genoa, City of the Sea”, will be the new sea and navigation museums, that will open its doors in 2004 and that will have a strictly scientific approach with a strong care for use of multimedia and interactivity, drawing on the “Acquario” and supporting it as one of the great attraction of “Porto Antico”. Speaking of the cultural planning, there will be the show-event on the Transatlantics which will involve the whole city through rebuilding of surroundings and art exhibitions. Finally we must talk at least about the “Science’s Festival” who will be made of coordinate events similar to International Festival of Edinburgo’s tested models: the festival will favour the playful attitude approach for the scientific spreading allowing with collateral demonstration, specific and thematic study in depth: the multimedia interactive show “Genoa, the how to do city” will present to the big public the heritage of its culture and enterprise its technologies and products who build up a basic peculiarity of Genoa……
